Pink Druzy Salrose Rock
Pink Druzy Salrose Rock
Salrose is a crystalline pink cobaltoan calcite mineral. Cobaltoan refers to the mineral containing the element cobalt, which gives it this beautiful pink colour. Though, due to the microcrystalline nature, it may also potentially be dolomite instead of calcite, it can be hard to tell. It is often found in copper deposits.
This particular piece is large and shimmers beautifully in the light. The fifth image shows a sparkle which was not intentional, I didn't even notice till I checked the photos after the shoot and was happy to see that!
Note: Calcite is sensitive to acids. Avoid contact with acids such as vinegar.
