Aquamarine forms in pegmatite veins. It is a form of beryl, and often forms in granite and quartz bodies. 

Pegmatites are coarse crystalline igneous rocks with long crystal formations, forming at the end of magma crystallization, in the upper part of the Earth's mantle. 

It gets its delicate beautiful blue colour from iron inclusions.
